Kenneth Donfield

Kenneth Donfield was born in Dublin in 1962. He is a graduate of fine art painting from Dun Laoghaire College of Art now known as D.I.A.D.T. in Dublin. He also studied on a postgraduate scholarship to the Art students league of New York in 1985 USA's oldest art academy and art college for postgraduate studies in painting. He continued further studies during the summer of 1984 in Florence under the master portrait painter professor Pietro Annigoni. Later in the early 1990's while living in London he studied in the life room of the Slade school of Fine Art with the figure painter Euan Uglow.

At this time he also lectured in life drawing and painting at a number of art colleges in London. Including working for Roger deGrey, PPRA at the Royal Academy Schools and City and Guilds Art School in London. In 1982 he won the Taylor scholarship for painting awarded by the R.D.S. He is since 1995 a lecturer in painting and drawing at the N.C.A.D. in Dublin . He also reviews art exhibitions,he has written for a number of publications over the years including the Sunday Independent.
