Inspired by a vision to offer accessibility to original, quality artwork, Powerscourt Gallery opens its doors for the first time in June 2009. The gallery also aspires to provide emerging and established Irish and international artists a forum to exhibit their art. The wide array of fine art, design and craft caters to a range of budgets and allows both the individual and the corporate consumer to find the perfect piece for their collection.
Powerscourt Gallery is located in the ballroom of the beautiful and historic Powerscourt Townhouse in the centre of Dublin. The ballroom would have been the grandest room in Powerscourt Townhouse - built for entertaining and dancing and also where Lord Powerscourt would have hung his finest paintings. The ceiling of this unique and unrivalled space is one of the best examples of Georgian stuccowork in Ireland. Powerscourt Gallery intends to build on the room's vibrant social, artistic and historical heritage by creating a gallery space that not only shows the highest quality fine art and design but also collaborates with artists from all disciplines to encourage crossover and exchange in terms of ideas and inspiration.
